Youth enjoying Arts & Crafts during the Parks After Dark Summer Program
In the heart of South Los Angeles, Ted Watkins Memorial Park is a monumental piece of history in Watts. This 27-acre facility was named after the founder of the Watts Labor Community Action Committee (WLCAC) in 1995. The park is home to the Burke’s Club that provides After School recreational activities for youth. Ted Watkins Park is also home to the Promenade of Prominence Walk of Fame celebrating the accomplishments of community leaders. Activities such as baseball, flag football, basketball and soccer are offered year around. The park also features a swimming pool that is open for an extended season through October.
