In 1973, the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation developed Carolyn Rosas Park in the community of Rowland Heights. Originally named Farjado County Park, the Board of Supervisors rededicated the facility on April 24, 1987 in honor of Ms. Carolyn Rosas, community leader and descendant of the Rowland Heights founding family. Since 1993, the Carolyn Rosas Park community has enjoyed recreational services primarily through the collaborative efforts of the Southeast Recreation District and the Walnut Sheriffs Station.
