Formerly named Sportsman Park, the park was renamed after one of the most celebrated Olympians of all time, Jesse Owens, who won four gold medals in the 1932 Berlin Olympics. Jesse Owens Park is located at the intersection of Western Avenue and Century Boulevard. Located just 15 minutes away from LAX, Jesse Owens Park provides recreational activities such as baseball, flag football, basketball, soccer and tennis. Jesse Owens Park also has a modern indoor swimming pool facility for community residents to participate in recreational activities in aquatics and aerobics. This 20-acre facility also has an adjacent 9-hole, par 3 golf course – the Maggie Hathaway Golf Course.
