Chesebrough County Park is named after Newhall family descendent, Bobby Chesebrough, Sr. In 1995, the Newhall Land and Farming Company deeded 5+ acres to the County of Los Angeles and committed to the development of a park. Construction began in February 2000, and the County took occupancy of the park in 2001. The total cost of construction was $1.1M.
The 5.10-acre park has already become very popular with the Northpark community in which it is located. This little jewel of a park is a beautifully landscaped, multipurpose facility with a picnic shelter, ball diamond and green spaces. There is an innovative pedestrian bridge crossing McBean Parkway allowing area residents to access the park without crossing this busy thoroughfare.
